Merlin is a joint sponsor of the Compaction Simulation Forum.
The Merlin team had the great opportunity to join fellow scientists, academics and pharmaceutical manufacturers at the Compaction Simulation Forum which was held in Boston, Massachusetts from the 5th to the 7th of June.
The compaction simulation forum brought together attendees to discuss and learn about tablet research in compaction. We were impressed by the breadth and quality of the talks. We've come away with many ideas for improving our investigation of powder flow and material characterisation. It was great to hear the exciting new research on these topics.
Presentations on the first day of the Compaction Simulation Forum focussed on continuous improvements and modelling overviews. A presentation by Professor Mazel discussed how compaction speed will influence capping. Roller compaction processes for scale up and tech transfer was an interesting talk for our team.
It is great to see the next generation of compaction scientists so passionate about improving tablet development. Charlotte Cartwright from Merlin had a poster at the event (which is now available to download from our website) and it was a pleasure to see so many posters from industry and academia. Merlin sponsored the Gala dinner held on the 6th of June which was enjoyed by all that attended the conference.
We are looking forward to next year’s conference that will be held in Dublin, Ireland.
