Before Merlin was created, only large pharmaceutical companies had access to compaction simulation technology, due to the cost, space and skills required.
Merlin was launched to provide the pharmaceutical development industry with access to the benefits that compaction simulation can bring to tablet development.
Merlin’s first laboratory was set up in Loughborough, shortly after our Technical Director Elaine Harrop Stone was recruited. When speaking with Elaine about her early years at Merlin, she explained how she was interested in becoming involved with a new pharmaceutical company, built with the aim to provide compaction simulation services to a wider audience.
Expansion and New Location
Since then, Merlin has expanded its compaction simulation test offerings, and the company has moved laboratories to Brierley Hill in the West Midlands. The company now has a well-established team of scientists and engineers. Merlin is now involved in a variety of international projects, some of which can be found here.
Technical Director Elaine Harrop Stone says: “The greatest thrill about working at Merlin is the ability to speed up the development of global medicines that will help improve the lives of patients, around the world. Over the years, we’ve invested in our people, because we are passionate about making sure our customers have access to the highest technical knowledge available. Our case studies provide just a snippet of projects we have been involved with over the last 10 years”.
Nothing stands still in the pharmaceutical industry, and Merlin has exciting plans for the future.
We would like to thank all of our customers for their continued support over the last 10 years.
